Richard Carr began his musical career as a scholar at the High Wycombe Music Centre and went on to an Organ Scholarship at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, graduating in 2003. He is currently Director of Music and Organist at St. Michael's Church, Bishop's Stortford, Herts. where he directs adult and children's choirs. Richard lives in Cambridge and divides his time between performing, teaching and an expanding location recording business. He is a teacher of piano and organ at King's College School and continues his own keyboard studies, with John Wellingham, on the early instruments at the Acadamy of Ancient Music. Having achieved a performing diploma in singing in 2005, he is currently working on an advanced diploma in London with Stuart Kale. Richard has performed as a soloist in keyboard recitals in the UK and in the USA. Recent concerts included concertos by Bach, Alec Rowley, Walter Leigh and Poulenc. He has performed as an accompanist and in chamber music in Frank Bridge's Piano Quartet, the Elgar Piano Quintet and Schubert's 'Trout' Quintet. |
